About me

Angelo A. Camillo, PhD, is a multiple subject instructor in the School of Business and Economics – Wine Business Institute at Sonoma State University, California, USA. He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in Strategic Management, Hospitality Management, International Business, Wine Business, Wine Supply Chain, and Global Wine Business and leads the study abroad program for undergraduate and graduate students. He has over 35 years of international hospitality management experience and has worked and lived in ten countries and four continents. He specializes in Strategic Management, Global Enterprise Management, Management Consulting and Design Thinking, Hospitality Entrepreneurship and Business Development, Wine Education, Wine List and Menu Engineering, Nutritional Analysis and Food Products Labeling. He is also hospitality business consultant to American and international clients. He holds a degree from Heidelberg Hotel Management School Germany, an MBA from San Francisco State University, and a PhD from Oklahoma State University. He also holds  Executive Development Certificates in Management, Accounting, and H. R. Management, from Cornell University and Sustainable Strategy from Harvard University.

Research interests

My interdisciplinary research encompasses three streams of interest that reflect my publications and presentations according to the university and school of business requirement, my specializations, and courses I teach. These streams are:

  1. Service and Production Management: Issues in strategy, marketing, and technology in the field hospitality and wine business, business development, and entrepreneurship. 

  2. Strategy and Business Policy: Critical issues in competitive advantage, innovation, strategy, and entrepreneurship, managerial communication, corporate social responsibility, and enterprise risk management.

  3. International Management: Global Strategic Management, International Business.

  4. Geographical Areas: All continents with emphasis on Europe, Asia, North America.
